NAAP Theater Club at The Junior Theatre Festival 2016

 

National Asian Artists Project's (NAAP) Theatre Club from PS124 attended iTheatrics' Junior Theatre Festival on January 16th & 17th in Atlanta, GA. At this year's festival the group performed selections from "Music Man, Jr." and received the Excellence in Ensemble award for their performance. The group was also asked to perform alongside other select groups on the main stage Saturday evening in the Broadway JR New Works Showcase.

P.S. 124 Graduation

On June 21, 2012, NAAP Theatre Club students celebrated their graduation from the fifth grade at PS 124, the Yung Wing School.

PS 124 Theatre Club & ITheatrics partnership

This was the inaugural trip in NAAP's 2-year pilot partnership program with ITheatrics. The students performed a number from "Guys and Dolls" before their schoolmates before boarding the plane the next day to Atlanta. 

Students of P.S. 124 Perform in Times Square

On March 19, 2012, NAAP and their P.S. 124 Theatre Club students of were asked as only one of three schools to perform in Times Square to launch the Musicals In Our Schools Week, sponsored by NBC’s ‘Smash’ and developed in association with the Junior Theater Project (juniortheaterproject.org), a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring our young people continue to have access to quality arts programs. PS 124 Theater Club in Atlanta

Children from PS 124 in New York's Chinatown had the opportunity to perform at the Junior Theatre Festival at the Cobb Convention Center in Atlanta, Georgia. For most of them, this was their first trip on an airplane, in a hotel, and in a convention center. They performed in front of an audience of 2200 people to a standing ovation.
 

Greensboro Elementary

For the educational component of "The King and I" concert performance, Leslie Denniston and Steven Eng held a workshop class with the 600+ student body of Greensboro Elementary in Greensboro, Georgia on October 19, 2009.

NAAP Kids

For two summers, Baayork, Steven and Nina Zoie ran a musical theater school in New York City’s Chinatown for local kids. This gathering was a reunion of some of those students, some of whom are pursuing theatre in their own schools.
